The Vitamin Game

Vitamins and supplements have been a controversial topic for many nutritionists and doctors, but personally I am a firm believer in them. Of course they do not replace healthy eating or exercising, but I think they can give you a little boost in what you need. Last year, my mom went to the doctor and was told she was deficient in iron. She started taking iron vitamins everyday and by her next visit her levels were up to normal. Just an example of the differences they can make! I also find reading about different supplements can do for you and the benefits they can bring to your body really interesting. Here are some of my personal favorite vitamin discoveries:
Ashwagandha
No, I don't know how to pronounce this either. But this herb is a natural stress and anxiety reducer and who doesn't love that? Plus, unlike many stress/anxiety fighters, it does not make you drowsy. Quite the opposite actually; it has been found to help with lack of energy and fatique!
Biotin

Biotin is great for all things beauty. It's shown to improve and quicken the growth of hair and nails, as well as strengthen them.
Magnesium

Magnesium helps with sleep, migraines, lowers your risk of diabetes, improves mood, relieves stress, and alleviates PMS. Pretty much one of those, all around amazing vitamins.
